I am very interested in being a game designer one day and love the fact about making my owns games. I would like a really good game editor program, but its just too expensive. Any suggestions?

a really good program for making snes/nes style games is rpg maker. theres quite a few versions 1995 2000 2003 xp and vx you have to pay for the more recent ones they're a $60 one time payment. the old ones you can usually download for free try 2003 its pretty basic but free :)

Does the in-built creature editor in just the Spore game look the same as the Creature Creator editor?

Yes! The Creature Creator is the exact same one. The good thing is though that there is an expansion that let's you add a couple of different parts plus new color palettes. The game also has editors for cells, cars, ships, houses, entertainment centers, factories, air vehicles and spaceships PLUS you can change color of planets and add mountains and hills and a bunch of stuff.
