Heading to san francisco in the beginning of september with a buddy for a Oakland Raider game in Oakland. We will be spending 4 nights in san francisco and we are wondering what the best tourist friendly places are to party. We are staying in the Cathedral Hill Hotel so we are pretty much in the center of everything....

Answer
You are just a block away from one of SF most tourist friendly bars. Tommy's Joint on Van Ness at Geary an old style SF sportsbar and houfbrau, they serve such unique dishes as buffalo chili over rice and the meatball sandwich is the bomb. The pictures of San Francisco all over the walls are a history lesson. Nothing fancy but filling and welcoming.

Rt 101 is a friendly little dive bar on Van Ness between Pine and Bush.

There are also several bars along Polk Street. This has long been a gay neighborhood and is still very mixed.
The Holy Grail - An irish pub with a funky fun decor and good Irish food.
Lush Lounge - Popular mixed bar that can get very crowded
Encore Encore on California at Polk easy to miss cause it is upstairs over a flower shop, a large Karoke bar that draws a eclectic crowd.
Hemlock on Polk at Hemlock live music, pool table your typical neighborhood tavern
And although I've never visited the Bigfoot lounge it certainly looks intriguing online:

You are also not too far from Hayes Valley a good place for a lounge crawl.
Jade on Gough at Fulton, lounge with a waterfall cascading down from street level. Small plates.
Absinthe Hayes at Gough good food and drink in a French style bistro.
Sugar a lounge with no food after happy hour.
Hays Street Grill 320 Hayes at Gough. Fresh fish shines at this neighborhood favorite. They specialize in grilling fish and then serving it with your choice of sauces that only enhance the taste of the fish and shellfish.
Suppenkueche - Hayes at Octavia - German restaurant and bar with something like 50 beers on tap. The food is great!
Jardiniere on Grove at Franklin, some of the best food and drink in the city.

How many people out there like the MGS series?

Tropical D

Personally, I love it. If you do or don't, please explain why. I just think all the characters, storyline, and gameplay are top notch and any changes would just make it worse. Also - Peace Walker in 2 days. What are your feelings on this game? I wish they wouldn't have put Doritos and hay bails in it :/
Metal Gear Solid by the way.

Answer
I actually just liked the online play. The newer MGS games are so long. So many cut scenes, just started to bore me. I'd rather a game with just action/gameplay. But MGS is a good series.
