deep stack online poker tournament question?

kalistud14

im used to playing in regular tourneys where you start with 1500 chips and blinds in crease every 10-15 mins and I usually make the money. I want to try this dep stack where we start with 5000 in chips and blinds go up every 30min does this mean I should kick back more then normal and wait for premium hands more then normal since I have more time for the blinds going up? Or should I stick to the same strategy as the regular tourneys?

Answer
First off if you are confident in your game do not change it for anything.

I try not to let the size of my stack or the size of a buy in dictate the way I play. Sometimes its hard to take the freerolls and the cheap tournys seriously, and then lose early. But if you play them legit you can usually make it far. And the same with the size of my stack. I'm not going to raise with an Ace 10 or lower off suit or call certain raises with A 10 or lower off suit just because I have a nice stack. I would play the same as you normally do through out. Which probably is playing conservatively all the while mixing it up a little bit.

I would use this oportunity to see cheap flops early with certain good cards (mid suited conector types) with good position. And use post flop play to your advantage and know where you stand and put your money in at the right time with the best hand.

And once blinds start going up then kick back and play a little tighter. If you have a good game you should do all right.

They usually have these tournys at the higher $$ levels. So look for your cheapest ones to start out and see if you like them and what works well for you. Experimental games are always best at low levels. Why jump into a $20 stud hi/low if your noy used to that game? Unless you won entry through satelite, then Congrats!

Good Luck.

I purchased a game online w/card and have not gotten a email to confirm or deny it.why?
