What are the best applications/games that any one has downloaded to the t-mobile G1?

This really depends on who you are and what your into my favorites are:
backgrounds- Gives you screen backgrounds , remote downloading of backgrounds, will automatically change your backgrounds given a schedule
Android file manager-Manage files on your SD card and phone
FBook-Face book utility
GPS tracker-If your phone is lost or stolen you can track it online via the web and can turn it on with a text message.
Hotspot locator- Find T-mobile hotspots and automatically logon
Pacman-' Nuff said
Light racer- a "TRON" style racing game
PF voicemail + - Your voicemail messages downloaded to your phone for free...no more calling in
Shazam-Find out what song is playing by letting the phone "hear it"
Ringdroid - Make your own ring tones
Shop savvy- scan barcode find cheapest price
Weather channel-Weather
Toddler lock- let kids play with the phone without messing it up (keeps my 2 year old quiet)

what is the best way to download this game?

I downloaded a digitial copy of a game from a reputible game site instead of getting the disc version. I downloaded to to my laptop but want it on desktop now too. How am I am able to download it to my desktop from my laptop? I tried going back to the site but was not able to.

You can't move a game itself from computer to computer like that. You need to move the installer for the game that you got from the site and put that on your desktop and then run it to install the game. For instance, if you downloaded Pacman, you would need pacman_setup.exe or pacman_installer.exe, something like that. If you deleted the installer you're rather out of luck unless you can find it from an alternative source online.
Some games put another installer for the game in the game files themselves, so if you deleted the installer try checking out the folder for it (ie, C:\Program Files\Pacman) and see if there is something with "installer" or "setup" in the name there as an executable (.exe) file.
