I've never been sure on this...what are all the different types of games online and what do they stand for? I know one of them is MMO. I know there's more but what are they and what do they mean?

Okay, so there are many types of games online. first there is MMORPG which means "Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game"" There is first person shooters, such as Halo or Call of Duty which puts you in the eyes of the character you are playing as. So you see what they see. Over the Shoulder such as Resident evil (the newer ones), or Gears of War, that is up close behind your character looking over his/her shoulder, usually the right shoulder, depending on which hand the character uses. MMO is just MMORPG without the RPG. An RPG, for example, Final Fantasy, Xenosaga, etc. Is usually a 3rd person game that you run around running into enemies, taking turns attacking each other then you win and get XP points to level up and get stronger. A 3rd person game is when the camera is a bit away from the character behind him/her. For example The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario, Jak, etc. Where you can easily move in any direction freely at will. I hope I helped and if you need to ask me anymore questions feel free to.
