He has CandyLand and Hi-Ho Cherry-O, we want to get him off his addiction to video games and more into interacting with us. He's still too young to understand monopoly, uno, and things like that.

Card games are great because you can do so many things with one deck of cards -- memory games, slap jack, go fish, old maid, and so forth -- you can find the rules online.

Monopoly jr., clue jr., and other jr. versions of the adult games.

At 4 and 5 let him change the rules around a bit. Don't let him cheat, but let him enjoy himself. When my brother and I were 4 and 5 we played Monopoly all the time. We had no idea how to play so we played our own version, but we had a great time.

You should get the 3DS, even a 4 year old fully understands a 3DS.

Because you can play music (even with the system close).

You can LOWER the VOLUME of 3D so it does NOT give you headaches for the first time in your life (if you're the kind of person to ever get headaches from 3D, otherwise just turn the 3D all the way up).

And you can also turn the 3D OFF Completely.

And 3D is good for working out your eye muscles & brain to keep them in shape as shown in this link:

I need some ideas for some good young kids activities, games, and crafts. I have two young boys that are 2 and 4 years old and I don't know what or how to entertain them. Also is there any good free online educational computer games for my 4 year old to play?

Never to early to start learnign got to local dollar store or book store and get some early learning workbooks. My daughter is 3 and she loves these and is learning to write her letters and numbers. Go to local library and get some books and read to them. Most libraries have summer reading programs and the kids earn prizes for books read even if you are reading them to them. Also look into gymnastics classes often offered by local city recreation departments to help release some of their energy and keep them active and fit. Or even check local YMCA for summer activities like swimming.

I volunteered to coach my son's team this year and the age range is 3-4 years old. I am trying to find some fun instructional exercises for them. Something to keep there attention as well as teach them baseball skills.

T-ball.....great time in kids lifes. They know nothing about the game and coaches too often make the mistake of trying to teach them how to be amazing players in 6 weeks. What works? Take them all out to the outfield at the start of practice (turn them from the foul line in to the field of play so parents arent being "entertained"). Challenge them to a race to get to the outfield....of course you will never beat them. Next do some quick and simple excercises. Why do excercises when they have no muscle or real need? Simple....they are all working together (first lesson learned....be a team) and make them silly and let the kids be "in charge". Give different kids a chance to be an excercise leader and allow for some silliness (remember that they arent really doing anything amazing so make it FUN!). While they do that have a coach or parent volunteer line up their gloves 10-15 feet apart in lines of 2 (space them 8-10 ft. between lines) so each kid has a catch partner. Instead of a baseball get them started with a tennis ball...they wont be afraid of the ball and they gain confidence that they can catch. Have them work on a good throwing motion....good teaching methods can be found online in many places and most little leagues have great access to training videos. Once they do that have a coach take all but 4 kids to the outfield and have them form 2 lines to field grounders (that is all they will field in a game so get them used to it) and you need 2 tee's and a bunch of whiffle or limited flight type balls. Have 2 kids spaced far enough apart that they wont hit eachother but close enough so you can keep putting balls on each tee quickly. Let them hit 8-10 balls each then rotate the next set of 2 in. Let them hit 8-10 then repeat the process for a second round then bring in the next 4 hitters. CHallenge them to see who is faster....the kids who just hit or the fielders coming in to hit. Both will hussle and it keeps a flow and prevents them from getting distracted. That should get you to the end of practice and will have kept the kids very busy....too busy to get too distracted. If they still have a little practice time play a game of hot potato or make 2 lines close together but have the lines be about 5 ft. apart and challenge them to toss it back and forth down the line without a drop. Increases hand/eye and is incredibly fun for the kids.

The most important things any T-ball coach needs to keep in mind is to keep it fun enough that they come back next year. Compliment them and act like they are the most amazing kids in the world and that is exactly what they will be! The only skills they need to learn it to have fun and start the proper throwing motion, a respectable batting stance (they will hit it in T-ball and need only basic stance and swing instruction...too much will overwhelm them) and the ability to try and field a grounder. Accomplish those simple things and you will have successfully done a masterful coaching job.
