Is Gamefly worth it for my family?

Q. My brother and I are pretty hardcore gamers, my dad plays some on the weekends, my mom gets hooked on puzzle games, and my sister is a little young but she enjoys playing games with the "big kids". So would it be worth it to join gamefly?

Answer
GameFly is one of those services that seems like a really great idea, and makes you say "Why didn't I think of that?". With that in mind, it's good to remember that not all good ideas are good for all people. What your probably wondering though is "Is GameFly good for me?".

While there are number of factors to consider, the short answer is this: If you spend $20 or more per month on console video games, than yes, you should be using GameFly. You'll play more games, and spend less money.

There are a number of competitors to GameFly, but for our purposes, they're all a distant second. That's not to say GameFly is without it's flaws, just take a quick look around your favorite gaming forum and see what current customers have to say. Hang on, I'll tell what they say. "Man, I hate GameFly." or "Man, I love GameFly, why doesn't everyone?". But at the end of day i think its great service, and if your really interested you should use my referral code for a free month of service its helps us both out thanks in advance.

Gamefly vs. Blockbuster?

I signed up for Blockbuster online free 2-week trial. $16.99 2-out plan, which is not bad. I rented a game and a movie. I was looking at some new releases and some games that came out 2 months ago don't come out for another 3 months. What is that? Is gamefly like that to because if they are I will stay with blockbuster.

At gamefly you pay $22.95 month for 2 out at a time, and at Blockbuster for 3-out at a time its $19.99

Answer
Gamefly is a little expensive, but it's by and large the most convenient way to rent games. You get a new game approximately 3 days after sending one back, now that they have more warehouses around. Membership also gives you access to free shipping on any used games, as well as discounts and coupons after you've been a member for a while. It's fast, reliable, and they almost always have any game in stock. (Just be sure it's the only thing on your list if it's a hard to get game. They may get it back in from someone tomorrow, but if they don't have it immediately, they'll send you the first thing on your Q that they can immediately send out.) Overall, it's the best mail-rental service.

And yes, gamefly does generally have games ready to ship within 3 days of their release.

By the way, if you haven't used someone's referral code already, consider using mine. It benefits me as well as giving you an extra month of gamefly. http://a.tellapal.com/a/bU8zZl

Gamefly Help PLEASE!!!!!!?

KAD

Ok so im going to get a Gamefly membership and im going to get Modern Warfare 2.How long will it take for my game to get here because i know a lot of people play MW2 but can i know the estimated time??And also im going to get some new games that are coming out Ex.Black Ops,Assassins Creed Brotherhood,Star Wars F.U. 2.How long will it take for them to get here??
Thank you

Answer
Gamefly isn't the greatest when it comes to shipping, but they are decent. You can expect to receive any shipped game within 2 to 5 business days based upon my experiences with them.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 = Medium(Will be available 50 to 74 percent of the time)

Any games that are new, will most likely not be shipped for a while due to the popularity of the games. According to Gamefly, the availability of brand new/popular games is typically less than 25 percent. My experience says that it will be around 10%.

If you do continue with getting a Gamefly subscription, could you click through my link? It gets me a free month :)

Is Gamefly worth the monthly charge?

Stephan G

My mom wants me to save up money but still entertain myself at the same time. I saw a couple of commercials advertising about Gamefly but I was not sure of it. I thought "Hey if Netflix is good for movies, then Gamefly would be good for PS3 games." I would like honest reviews about Gamefly and please be specific. Advantages and disadvantages.

Answer
Gamefly works very well, its just like netflix. However in my area it takes twice as long to get a gamefly game as it does a netflix.....3 day turn around on netflix about 5 on gamefly. Kind of a bummer but still its not bad. I use the 2 game at a time plan so I just play the 2nd ones while waiting on the first. I save quite abit of money to....think of it this way. A new game is 50-60 dollars, and how much do you honestly play them? I would beat them then resell them for about 20-30 and be done with it. Gamefly I do about 4 to 5 games a month, and only pay the one fee. So if I beat the game quickly or just don't like it its not a bad deal because I am still way ahead of where I would be buying them.

How does gamefly determine who gets a game?

bwfowner20

I've been with gamefly a month now and I was wondering how they go about shipping new titles? For example, when Black Ops comes out, i'm sure everyone who has gamefly will have it number 1 in their Q, How do they determine who gets it and who doesn't on release day?

Answer
This isnt offical but its pretty much the way it works.....

cod black op comes out on 11/9/2010

So this is how you make sure you get new games on release date. I have tested this now with over 10 new games & it works EVERY TIME.

1. Make sure your game q is empty except for the game you want, in this case cod black ops.

2. Make sure you have cod added to your q, i add all comming soon games to my q months ahead, as long as the game is in your q early enough gamefly ships those on release date assuing you have an open slot for a game to ship to you.

3. Make sure to send back a game with 3 days processing time, for instane since this game is comming out on a tuesday i make sure i send back a game no later than thursday & have a open game to be shipped to you. They will ship you out the game on monday (yes the day before the release) & you will get the game on release day in your mail.

Trust me this works i have done in plenty of times.
