What do i need to do to make races appear in Need For Speed Underground 2 ?

I'm like half way in the game ( needforspeed underground 2) and there is no races on the map anymore, some people say you have to race guys that drive on the streets, i raced a bunch, and still nothing on the map, please help me out.

Why do so many good games get put underground?

sure they don't have big mainstream names like call of duty or dead space but they can be as equally enjoyable. Most of my games are underground and barely or not at all mentioned and I prefer playing them more than anything cause fun is still a concept in them, not newer graphics or even refined game play just plain playing to enjoy. why do such good games get over looked? Has newer technology ruined the gaming pallet to the point the spirit of gaming is lost?

Good games such as "underground" ones get overlooked because their developers aren't as rich/acclaimed/famous as ones such as Call of Duty, and their publishers don't want to invest heavily in advertising a game that could flop in the market.
