Hi, I'm looking for a fun online-based game to spend away on some of my free time.
I don't care if I have to pay a monthly fee, or if it asks for a credit card.
I'm into most genres... Action, Adventure, FPS, Virtual Life, MMORPG.
I want it to be launched through an application though, and not through an internet browser.
Thanks! =)
Not browser based games, just application.

EvE online is actually a pretty cool game based in space... you download the app and it costs 15 dollars a month iirc You basicly are a pilot and you have to learn new skills to get new ships, there is pvp, mining, hauling minerals, fed ex missions, hunting missions, ratting missions (ratting is basically killing enemy factions for cash and parts) Its a pretty cool game and it makes you think. Also they have new content updates quite a lot... and your skills go hand and hand with how you want to play... if you want to be an interdictor class and work in a team basically you can stop other ships from running away or you can be a pilot of a giant battleship with massive guns.

You could try some browser based games. I'm going to tell you about RPGs, since that's what I play. If you want puzzle games or something more traditional like board and card games, try miniclip, addictinggames, yahoo!games or MSN zone. First I'm going to tell you about the browser based MMORPGs, then.
To play games in flash, there are Dragon Fable and Adventure Quest (In both you have to pay to have full access to the game, and notice that Dragon Fable is still under construction and that it's hard for non-members to login into AQ). There are also those community based flash games (that some people consider to be MMORPGs) that are becoming really popular: Gaia Online (that I already played and that is really cool), ClubPenguin, PuzzlePirates, and i think that Habbo goes the same way; in all of this games you create an avatar and play games like fishing to get money and personalize those avatars.
Thereâs also the pure browser based ones: Tibia is a fairly popular game, BiteFight and Knightfight are OK. Travian is a strategy MMOG, also pretty good. Thereâs also pokemon crater (but it has a lots of publicity) and, my personal favorite, FallenSword (itâs much like pokemoncrater, only that it doesnât have lots of publicity, and has a guild system that stimulate interaction, not to mention the lottery and the auction system).
Have fun.
