I want to play A fun Wii game online with my friends out of state they have internet and a Wii and its all hooked up how can we play games together and what games do you recommend?

You'll need a game with Wi-fi capabilities, look for a blue circular logo stating " Nintendo Wi-fi Connection", here's some examples of games:
*Mario Strikers:Charged Football
*Pokemon Battle Revolution
*Guitar Hero 3
For a full list click the following link and you'll see which games have been and are due to be released and in which region:

Most games allow random matching (you play others randomly) however if your wanting to play your friends then you'll all need to have the same game and then exchange either "Friend Codes" or with any EA game (Fifa'08/Madden'08 etc..) you'll need to know each others Screen Name/tag or similar (EA games run on their own servers).
Perosnally I'd recommend Mario Strikers, its a great game!

I just want to see the top most played online games for xbox. As long as you don't use the major nelson xbox live list then im fine. For some reason i just don't trust that halo 3 is still the top played game online. I also don't trust MajorNelson. He kinda seems clueless and doesnt look very trustworthy.

The only way you're gonna find it is Major Nelson. And it makes sense that Halo 3 is the top played game, because after they get bored with the other games, Halo 3 is the game everyone goes back to.
