We're throwing a luau party/family reunion and we're not the type of family that likes to play games like "Honey I love you" (you sit in a circle and try not to smile while you say that and all that stupid stuff....). WE WANNA GET MESSY O_O. Any ideas? It doesn't even have to be luau related as long as its a fun and active game that doesn't involve looking eachother straight in the eyes o_o.......

8. sand man!. u know that when u go to beach with family, u always end up bury each other in the sand
7.Video game! lol. me and other family member play video games together sometimes.
8.Jigsaw. everyone did. boring but still good
7.carom! me and my grandfather used to play this game. lol
6.water ball!. u know what to do when u had balloon, water, water gun etc lol
5.exploring. its really fun. sad thing we only had few chances to do it together. best exploration - jungle tracking.
4.cleaning,decorating the house. u know when we do it together it become really fun!
3.celebrate happy birthday,wedding, etc ceremony together. sing together, laugh together
2.competition! sometime there are local organization held the event and got competition for family. its really fun. its time to united and show what we got!
1.mostly. finally. oh yeah. sleep over. you when there is holiday or school break. family and relative went back home and stay together. stay at night together, having bbq and stuff lol. its the best

How about doing a luau on the beach with the works...grass skirts, cups of juice with umbrella's in them for the kids/fruity drinks with umbrella's for adults, lots of flowery/surfer decor.
You could serve fresh pineapple trays with dips to go along with the theme..among other fruits like strawberry's, papaya's, mango's, etc. Do pop sickles instead of ice cream or do both, which ever you prefer. Cooking out on the beach is always fun if its possible..you could do hamburgers and hot dogs.
As far as games/activities, have the kids make sand castles and bring lots of tools for them to use...judge on who makes the biggest, best, etc and do prizes if you like. Kids could do 3 legged races on the beach, they could play with boogie boards, have the kids bury the adults in the sand or vice versa, you have a lot of options.
A beach treasure hunt would be neat. Get and old box and fill it with "treasures"....fill it with small trinkets for all the kids and make them a map of obstacles for them to find it and let them dig it up...it suits as a beach theme as well.
